When a Watch Case Is No Longer Enough
A growing collection eventually creates a different kind of storage problem.
At Old Fashioned Luxury, we design custom watch cabinets around the collection itself. Capacity, dimensions, drawer layouts, materials and practical requirements can all form part of the design.
Rather than asking a collector to adapt to a standard cabinet, we begin with the number of watches, the space available and the way the collection should be stored, accessed and presented.
The result is bespoke collector storage created around the collection, the room and the person behind it.

Designed Around the Scale of Your Collection
A cabinet for a serious watch collection should begin with capacity.
The number of watches, their size, the way they are worn and the amount of space required between them can all influence the internal layout.
Some collections need a small number of generous drawers. Others require a much larger number of individual watch positions, additional compartments or dedicated space for accessories and jewelry.
By starting with the collection itself, the cabinet can be developed around what is actually required rather than around a predetermined format.
What Can Be Customized?
Capacity
The number of watch positions is defined around your collection, from a smaller cabinet to large multi-drawer storage solutions.
Dimensions
Overall dimensions can be developed around the available room, safe, furniture or intended location.
Drawers & Layout
Drawer count, watch spacing, accessory compartments and internal layouts can all be considered as part of the project.
Materials & Finishing
Leather, suede, colors, hardware and other finishing details can be selected to create a cabinet that belongs in its environment.
From Watch Storage to Collection Architecture
A watch cabinet is no longer simply an accessory.
At this scale, storage becomes part of the room, the safe or the interior around the collection.
Proportions, drawer access, material combinations and the relationship between the cabinet and its surroundings all become part of the design process.
For this reason, bespoke watch cabinets are approached as individual projects rather than as enlarged versions of a standard watch box.

Drawers Designed Around the Watches
The internal layout matters just as much as the exterior.
Watch size, bracelet or strap configuration, cushion fit and spacing between individual pieces can all affect how a drawer should be designed.
Where required, the cabinet can also include dedicated sections for straps, jewelry or other accessories.
The objective is to create an internal structure that makes the collection easy to access, visually organized and appropriately protected.
Every cabinet begins with a conversation about the collection, the space and the practical requirements.

Built for More Than 100 Watches
One of our most substantial bespoke projects was developed for a collector requiring storage for more than 100 watches.
The cabinet combined multiple watch drawers with dedicated jewelry storage and integrated watch winders, all within a highly specific footprint.
Projects at this scale demonstrate why standard watch storage eventually reaches its limits. Capacity, access, power, drawer clearance and installation all become part of the design.
The solution has to be built around the collection and the space it will live in.

Designed for the Space It Will Live In
A bespoke watch cabinet can be designed around more than the collection alone.
Where required, dimensions can be developed around an existing safe, room or piece of furniture. Access, drawer clearance, depth and practical installation requirements can all influence the final design.
This allows the cabinet to become part of an existing environment rather than an object that has to be accommodated afterwards.
Looking for Something Smaller?
Not every collection requires a full cabinet.
For smaller collections, we also create custom watch cases, watch rolls, trays and drawer inlays designed around the same principle: the storage should adapt to the collection, not the other way around.
Previous Bespoke Watch Cabinet Projects
Each cabinet begins with a different collection, scale and environment.
These projects show how capacity, drawer layouts, materials and proportions can be adapted to create entirely different collector storage solutions.
